Expand your horizons and connect with like-minded individuals at the Senior Center of Langlade County!

Our calendar is full of programs, from engaging social events to group exercise classes to informative presentations. We cater to a variety of interests and passions, ensuring there's something for everyone.

Social Activities

Get together with old friends and make new ones – join us for a variety of engaging social activities designed to bring people together. Enjoy some friendly competition, laughter, and shared experiences. Explore some of our regularly scheduled social activities below:

  • Informal gathering daily from 9:00 to 11:00am.

    Enjoy coffee and sweets with fellow members. From time to time we have “gather around the coffee table” with different organizations within our community discussing topics from health and fitness to special services offered within our county. There is always lots of great conversation.

    You bring your laughter; we will bring the fun!

  • Every Monday at 1:00 pm

    Enjoy the challenge and camaraderie of Mahjong!

    This is a popular game played all over the world, similar to rummy. A tile trading skill, and luck. Come and learn the game and meet new friends.

  • Every Wednesday at 10:00 am

    Looking for a relaxing and social activity? Join our knitting and crocheting group! All skill levels welcome. Whether you're a seasoned stitcher or a curious beginner, this group is a great place to learn, share your talents, and work on your projects.

    Bring your own yarn and needles/hook, or we can provide some basic supplies to get you started. Enjoy friendly conversation and a sense of community while you create beautiful handmade pieces.

    This is a great opportunity to:

    • Stay active and keep your mind sharp.

    • Learn new skills or share your existing knowledge.

    • Meet new people and make friends.

    • Reduce stress and unwind.

  • Every Wednesday at 1:00pm

    Cost: $1.00 per card.

    This is a very popular program on Wednesday afternoons. If you enjoy being around a lot of people, come and play bingo!

  • Every Thursday at 10:00am.

    Do you enjoy bridge or have been wanting to learn how to play the game?

    Stop in on Thursday mornings, the group is looking to always looking to add more players. No experience necessary- we'll teach you!

  • 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:00am

    Cost: $2.00

    Round up your friends and come down to the Senior Center to play the newest dice game craze! Bunco is known for its element of luck and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels.

  • Come in and enjoy a plethora of games offered throughout the week. Refer to our daily calendar for days and times of certain activities. Many of our games are self -led and some games need multiple players to play.

    No experience is needed, if you are interested in learning a new skilled game, you are welcome to come in and observe to learn to play.

Exercise Programs

Discover the joy of movement in a supportive and social environment during any of the Senior Center of Langlade County exercise classes. These affordable or free classes are designed to fit every fitness level and interest. Whether you're looking for a low-impact, heart-pumping, or something in between, our calendar includes something for you.

Explore our current classes, below:

  • Mondays and Thursdays at 9:00 am.

    Come join us for chair yoga! This promising form of exercise may help with certain health conditions such as arthritis, to exercise without putting pressure on joints. It may also reduce the fear of falling and help people who are not used to exercise to begin improving their strength and balance.

  • Mondays at 1:00pm

    Line dancing is a wonderful way to have fun, improve your balance, coordination, and enhance your memory. Become a part of a group who love to dance, laugh and have fun!

    Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water to stay hydrated.

  • Mondays and Thursdays 10:00am

    Cost: $3.00

    The Senior Center is very fortunate to have Dr. Amanda and Dr. Emily of Promise physical Therapy and Wellness to lead our exercise program. They focus on strengthening and balance that can help to get you back to activities you want to do to live your best life.

  • Mondays and Thursdays 11:00 am

    Cardio Drumming for Seniors, also known as Drum Fit combines the rhythms of the drums with aerobic and fitness moves. It blends the power of the drum with the strength and energy of aerobic exercise. No drumming experience needed, come try it out!

  • Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact boxing inspired program designed specifically for people with Parkinson's disease.

    This class is perfect for all levels, from those newly diagnosed to those living with Parkinson's for many years. Our instructors, Dr. Amanda Trieloff and Dr. Emily Warren from Promise Physical Therapy and Wellness will modify exercises to ensure everyone can participate safely and effectively.

    Physician’s release is required to join this special program.

Membership Fee: $10 per year for Langlade County residents (January through December).
Veterans are members for free, for life.
